Saturday, August 20th, 2011

It’s been a sad morning full of goodbyes – the  sun has been shining on us though which has dried away any tears!! We’re so happy that everyone has had a great time and we wish everyone a safe journey home.   This is over and out for another summer but we’ll be back again before you know it and look forward to welcoming you all to XUK 2012!!!

Also a massive thank you to our wonderful staff team – they are enthusiastic, energetic, caring and friendly and have provided amazing activities for all the campers to do for the past 6 weeks.  We are so thankful for all your hard work and we hope to see you again soon!

What a rollercoaster of a day!

Thursday, August 11th, 2011

It’s been a rip roaring day both at camp and away!  A group of children enjoyed the optional trip to go to the local theme park and rode on scary rollercoasters, sailed down wet log flumes and watched the wonderfully entertaining sea lion show.  At camp, we experimented with lots of different products, making slime and volcanos!  We also had a taekwondo class, swimming, art and outward bounds on offer – phew!  Is there enough energy left for the children to take part in the fashion show??!

Beautiful Cambridge

Wednesday, August 10th, 2011

Hi everyone!  We are back safe and sound from our day trip to Cambridge.  It is such a beautiful city with something for everyone – shops, sights and lovely food!  We particular enjoyed looking at the world famous Kings College, where a lot of the groups stopped for some wonderful homemade ice cream that was on sale.

Several of our teen girls wanted to visit the shops and there were several Primark bags to load on to the coaches as we returned to XUK late this afternoon!  Sadly, when we got back there were a few drops of rain which meant we had to eat our BBQ dinner inside – however, it didn’t stop the staff v kids football match……..we won’t talk too much about this as the staff didn’t do too well!!  A rematch is on the cards!!
