We have only just stopped crying long enough to type a message to everyone to say our goodbyes to our online blog for this summer. It was an amazing last night! The show and disco were fantastic with plenty of dancing, singing and gunging of leaders!!
Thanks to everyone involved for a wonderful XUK 2010, including all our amazing campers, the stunning staff team, the lovely New Eccles Hall School staff, our brilliant instructors including fencing, taekwondo and archery and even our friendly Galloways coach drivers! We will miss seeing everyone so much! It’s only 364 days left until camp starts again, not that we’re counting!!

We’ve just played the last song of our week 5 disco which as always is the Greenday hit, Time of our Lives! It’s been a bit of a washout in terms of weather today but our campers have still had a fun filled day with cooking, drama, art and archery. Well done to Lena Aie who won our Citizen of Week 5 - a lovely girl who we wish a safe trip back to France and hope to see her and her brother again soon! Tomorrow is depart day…..we will need a mountain of Kleenex with all the tearful goodbyes expected! Can’t we have camp all year round??!

We’ve had a fantastic time at the amazing laser quest centre near to camp today. There is a paint ball range where the kids shot at targets. Well done Vicktor Gotz who got an amazing score! Our campers also took part in team building games where they had to get each person through a human sized spider web without touching the web! Trickier than it sounds! And across a minefield using planks and boxes! That was all before a game of laser quest in the woods, hiding behind disused tanks and trees. Amazing!

We’re back at camp now after our trip to London! It was a blast and everyone loved the sightseeing and seeing Legally Blonde, the musical at the Savoy Theatre. We saw the Queen’s band playing outside of Buckingham Palace, brought souvenirs from Hamley’s - the greatest toy shop on the planet!
Today, it’s back to a full timetable of activities, including fencing, archery, art, drama, cheerleading, dance and lacrosse. In fact, as we write this blog, there is a group baking cupcakes in the room below and they smell amazing - we are off to do some “quality control” tasting!

We’re really clocking up the miles over these next couple of days with our campers at XUK!
Today, the whole camp visited the beautiful city of Cambridge where we saw several of the famous university colleges as well as hitting the shops and enjoying watching delicious fudge being made by hand.
Tomorrow, we have our spectacular London trip where we take in the sights, buy some souvenirs and watch a we st end show! It’s an action packed day in the capital and everyone loves it! For those back at camp, we’ve got taekwondo, quads, outward bounds and drama class so it will be action packed! How can it be half way through week 4 already?? We guess time really does fly when you’re having fun!
