Age Groups and Activities

Mini Minors is for children aged 3 to 6. There are two age groups: 3-4’s and 5-6’s, each of which is split further by both age and any pre camp friend requests.

Each group takes part in a wide range of activities so each day is different! The focus at Mini Minors ensures each child has maximum fun in a safe environment. The range of activities and entertainers are tailored to each of the age categories to ensure that they are appropriate.

XUK, for children aged 7 to 13, is our senior day camp. The timetable and activities included are tailored for this age group. The aim of XUK is to have fun whilst experiencing new and exciting activities and learning new skills in a safe environment. If your kids want to specialise in one activity for a whole week then Cross Keys might be a better choice.

Mini Minors 3 – 4 year olds (Pre-reception)

We have great activities for this age-group. We aim for a good balance of indoor and outdoor, art and sport. We understand that many of this age group may be attending a camp for the first time (and may not have been to nursery before) and we adapt our approach to make these children / parents as comfortable and settled as possible.

The following are examples of the type of activities this age group might be exposed to:

Let’s Get Active, Face Painting, Stretch & Grow, interactive storytelling, puzzles, parachute games, fancy dress, bouncy castle, music, mask making, ball pool, Mr Tickle the clown, story time, teddy bears' picnic, puppet making and theatre, climbing frame, yoga, disco, football, Animal Encounters

All activities subject to change/cancellation and vary every week

Mini Minors 5 – 6 year olds (Reception / Yr 1)

Our 5 and 6 year olds approach activities in a more advanced way to our youngest age group. They also have sessions with our more grown up outside entertainers, which might include:fencing, Caporeira, judo, science experiments and so on.

XUK Day Camp 7 – 13 year olds (Yr 2 +)

We appreciate that our senior age-group require slightly more freedom to choose than our younger age groups. The XUK day camp is run slightly like a fully staffed youth club, compliant with Ofsted regulations. Every morning, children at XUK will join in with one of our 'time-tabled' activities, examples of which are as follows:

Assault course, music, summer swimming, a large range of sports, table tennis, judo lessons, healthy living workshop, drama, yoga, wide games, a variety of arts and crafts, Happy Puzzle Company, fencing, Go-Global games, Caporeira, board games, science experiments.

Every afternoon, they will be able to choose an activity in which to specialise. This will vary daily. A typical week of afternoon specialist activities could be as follows:

  • Wednesday: Rocket making or circus skills
  • Thursday: 'Cocktail making' or wide games
