In 2011, children joined us from 18 different countries, both inside and outside of Europe, so there is sure to be a good mixture of children. Our main aim is that everyone feels comfortable in this environment and encouraged to communicate in one common language – English.
2011 nationalities included China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Israel, Spain, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
We believe in ‘learning through doing’ and our experienced staff are passionate about delivering interesting and motivating lessons. Whilst we do follow a competency-based syllabus our teachers are strongly encouraged to use interactive activities in the classroom.
We are also intent on ensuring that when children are not having lessons, they are still practicing their English in social and active environments.

XUK English is less than an hour train ride from London. Every two weeks, we visit London and make sure we visit many of the great London tourist attractions. We also visit Cambridge every other week and one other local historical city.
We limit the number of children in each class, which means we are better able to cope with a variety of levels. Our teachers are specifically recruited to be able to cater with a wide range of abilities, from beginner to proficient
The price of a stay with us is £579 per week. We offer up to £65 reduction per week for early bookings and additional discounts are also available (for siblings / multiple weeks etc).
The only extras, are if you would like to be picked up from the airport or wish to take additional afternoon lessons. All trips, activities, food and accommodation are included in the weekly price.
Yes, every child receives an XUK English certificate and a report to record their achievements
Children attend XUK English for anywhere between 1 and 4 weeks and the content of the weeks is tailored to enable this.

XUK English is based at St Joseph’s School in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, just outside Ipswich and close to Ipswich train station.
Our Director of English is DELTA qualified (key for academic management) and our other language staff are recruited on the basis of their qualifications, experience and their desire to be working at the school
