The XUK English staff team
At XUK English we hire staff to do the jobs they are great at. That's why we have separate teachers and activity staff as well as a first rate Management team.
We have an overall staff/student ratio of at least 1:4, ensuring there is always someone on hand
Our Language teachers are:
- All English speaking and most are English themselves
- Passionate about creating lively, fun and interactive lessons.
- Selected carefully through an interview, reference and CRB process.
- given great resources to help plan the best possible lessons
Our Director of English is DELTA qualified (key for academic management) and our other language staff are recruited on the basis of their qualifications, experience and their desire to be working at the school
Our Activity and Pastoral staff are:
- All English speaking and most are English themselves
- Chosen for their unique ability to create fun and exciting activities and for their caring and passionate way they can look after each child.
- Overseen by an experienced management team. We strive for perfection.
- Selected following a tough recruitment procedure which includes a 4 hour interview, reference checking and CRB checks.
XUK English is directed by brothers Richard and Nick Bernstein. Between September and June we spend our time planning how to make camp even better next time round. We interview staff, prepare activities and trips, and speak to hundreds of parents on the phone. By the time camp begins, we hope to have made direct contact with the parents of every child coming to XUK English
Richard started managing camps in 1996. He has run hundreds of camps, managing hundreds of staff and thousands of children and teenagers. He retains a hands-on approach to every aspect of XUK English, and will be working closely with his team throughout the summer to ensure that XUK English runs to his very high standards.
