Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Cross Keys, Mini Minors & XUK day camp?

Mini Minors is our general activity camp for 3 - 6s (split 3-4s & 5-6s). XUk day camp is our general activity and choice camp for older children (7 - 13s). Cross Keys specialises in Drama, art and sport.

Why send my child to a ‘general activity camp’?

Some children like to do a mixture of different activities and do not want to concentrate on one specifically for a whole week. This way, your child can taste many different aspects of a camp in the safety and comfort of one site.

What are the times at Mini Minors and XUK day camp?

9:15am 3:15pm and if you need the children to stay longer they can stay till 16:15 in our ‘lates session’ for a small additional charge. You can send your child for a half day which ends at 12:15. The half day option is available to Mini Minors and XUK but most children at XUK decide to stay the full day so they can take part in the afternoon choice activity.

How many children are there in a group?

It depends slightly from week to week but usually around 24 children with three members of staff. At Mini Minors we never have less than one adult to eight kids at camp.

What do children eat at camp?

Children who come to Mini Minors and XUK bring a morning snack and a packed lunch with them. We also recommend they bring a water bottle. We have a no sharing food policy which helps protect children with allergies. We do not check lunches but respectfuly ask you not to put nut products in packed lunches.
